The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has been approved by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) to conduct a limited pilot on the Canton Network blockchain to convert its holdings of U.S. Treasury securities into blockchain tokens. During the pilot, the Treasury bonds will remain on the DTCC centralized ledger, with the tokens serving only as ownership representatives. The initial trial is expected to start in the first half of 2026.
